Le Montage, one of Sydney's most iconic event venues, has recently undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation, unveiling a luxurious transformation where modern aesthetics blend seamlessly with the stunning waterfront vistas of Iron Cove Bay. This elegant venue now offers unparalleled versatility, catering to intimate gatherings of as few as 30 guests, as well as grand celebrations for over 1,500 attendees.
Collaboration with Lorena Gaxiola: Creating Bespoke, High-Quality Interiors
The renovation was brought to life in collaboration with Lorena Gaxiola + Gallies, an internationally renowned interior design firm specializing in bespoke, high-quality interiors. Led by Lorena Gaxiola - an acclaimed interior architect and designer with over two decades of experience - the multidisciplinary team combines conceptual architecture, interior design, product development, and branding to deliver holistic and innovative solutions.
GH Commercial was proud to contribute to this prestigious project, providing a combination of woven and Designer Jet® carpet designs throughout the venue. Spearheading the design, Lorena Gaxiola brought her signature style to Le Montage, incorporating bold colours and distinctive designs to create a truly unique space. Central to this vision were custom carpets from the Terra Collection, featuring abstract shapes and lines that enhance the venue’s overall aesthetic. Two standout designs from the Terra Collection, Piedra and Agua, were custom-coloured specifically for Le Montage.
The Terra Collection: Inspired by Nature, Brought to Life by Designer Jet® and Woven Craftsmanship
The Terra Collection is an exquisitely crafted range of carpets inspired by the organic beauty of nature, with designs that draw from animal totems, natural patterns, and fauna. Each piece aims to evoke a sense of energy and emotional well-being, aligning perfectly with the vibrant and luxurious atmosphere of Le Montage.
The Agua pattern was brought to life using GH Commercial’s cutting-edge Designer Jet® technology - an innovative, Australian-made carpet solution that offers limitless possibilities for bespoke colours and patterns, redefining what’s possible in carpet design. Meanwhile, the Piedra pattern, along with other woven carpets used throughout the venue, was crafted using premium woven techniques. This combination of advanced technology and traditional craftsmanship ensures every space in Le Montage embodies elegance and sophistication.
Unique Carpets Elevating Every Space
In the Alexandra Lounge, Deanah’s View space, and the Sarah Grand Ballroom, Lorena collaborated with GH Commercial's in-house design team to craft a striking, one-of-a-kind geometric woven carpet design. This bespoke creation perfectly complements the venue's opulent atmosphere, further elevating its visual appeal.
Additionally, the Alexandra Lounge, staircase, and foyer feature premium woven carpets made from a luxurious wool-blend fibre, enhancing both the look and feel of these key spaces. The result is a timeless yet modern design that exudes elegance and sophistication, setting the perfect stage for unforgettable events.
