Project Overview
The FMG Ashburton office refurbishment spans 210m², aiming to create a more functional and welcoming workspace. This project reflects FMG's commitment to supporting New Zealand's farmers and rural communities through the choice of Godfrey Hirst wool tiles. Inspired by the country’s landscapes, these tiles effortlessly bring the essence of New Zealand's natural beauty into the office. This selection showcases FMG's dedication to using renewable materials while championing the local wool industry.
Why FMG Chose Wool
FMG's strong connection to the wool industry is long-standing, with the company insuring over 8,000 sheep and beef farmers across New Zealand. Many of its employees are also sheep farmers, making wool a meaningful choice for the organization. FMG’s support for wool extends beyond flooring to include soft furnishings, corporate clothing, and sponsorships of iconic events like the Golden Shears for over 40 years, demonstrating a deep-rooted commitment to the industry.
“In the sustainability world, we often hear about the need to reduce landfill waste, microplastics, and petrochemicals, always seeking the latest innovations in biodegradable fibres. When I listen to these discussions, I can’t help but think how wool ticks so many of these boxes” noted Emma Rowe, Sustainability Specialist, FMG
