A new life for repurposed carpet tiles – GH Commercial and YMCA

As an Australian carpet manufacturer, GH Commercial has donated a selection of hard wearing, Australian made carpet tiles to a nearby YMCA in Geelong, Victoria, refreshing the facility’s foyer, corridors and offices.

The YMCA is a global organisation that works locally to develop stronger communities through leadership opportunities partnering other community, private and government organisations and address social change in over 120 countries worldwide.

The Geelong branch is a charitable, not for profit that offers programs and services to create a healthier, happier, and more connected community. Established in Geelong in 1953 YMCA Geelong has 3 key facilities, Newtown Stadium (Gymnastics and Court Sports) North Geelong, YMCA Camp Wyuna at Queenscliff and manage Bannockburn Recreation Centre & Bannockburn Community Sports Stadium in partnership with the Golden Plains Shire.

As part of our Believe in Better philosophy, we are actively seeking environmentally responsible ways to recycle our carpet tiles. Our GH Commercial Loop program gives carpet tiles a second life. Previously used carpet tiles are collected and re-purposed to ensure the carpet tiles don’t end up in landfill.

“We are delighted to contribute to the Newtown facility whose mission is to improve the health of the local community. This reflects our own ethos at GH Commercial focusing on the improved wellbeing and health of patrons in public facilities through the manufacture and supply of healthier product” says GH Commercial’s National Commercial Sales Manager, Joel Williamson.

All GH Commercial carpet tiles are Declare Red List free and achieve maximum Green Star points and highest 4-star Environmental Certification Scheme rating.
