GH Commercial is proud to continue our support for the Living Future Institute of Australia (LFIA) as a sponsor of the 2025 Biophilic Design Awards in the Interior and Renovation category. As a long-standing Strategic Partner of LFIA, we remain committed to championing regenerative, nature-connected design that fosters healthier, more sustainable built environments.
The Biophilic Design Awards recognise innovative projects that integrate biophilic principles, creating built environments that enhance well-being, sustainability, and a deeper connection to the natural world. This year, for the first time, the awards have been extended to welcome entrants from New Zealand, further broadening the reach and impact of biophilic design across the region.
Announcing the Winner: Tall Tree House by Carolin Friese
We are delighted to announce Tall Tree House by architect and interior designer Carolin Friese as the winner of the 2025 Biophilic Design Award in the Interior and Renovation category.
Nestled in a mature beech forest in Bob’s Cove, Queenstown, Tall Tree House is a serene retreat that exemplifies the potential of biophilic design to offer immersive regenerative living. With a focus on natural materials, passive performance, and cultural sensitivity, the project stood out for its deep commitment to environmental and emotional harmony.
“I’m deeply honoured to receive this award for the Tall Tree House. I’m incredibly grateful to the jury and the Biophilic Design Awards for this recognition. This project was a labour of love, rooted in the belief that our homes should connect us more deeply with nature and be cherished by generations to come. Thank you so much.” – Carolin Friese.
We extend our warm congratulations to Carolin.
