At GH Commercial, we believe in going beyond the floor - creating products that not only perform but also make a positive impact. As part of our long-term commitment to inclusive design and social sustainability, we’re proud to continue our support of the genU Arts Programme. Originally founded in Geelong in 1952, genU is a profit-for-purpose organisation that empowers people of all abilities through employment, training, education, and social inclusion programs.

Our partnership with genU started when we launched our Social Canvas Collection and our commitment to genU has since extended to include contributions from both Social Canvas and Chromatic Cadence collections, two ranges designed to celebrate individuality and creativity in the built environment. Through this initiative, $1 is donated to the genU Arts Programme for every square metre sold across both collections on a bi-annual basis.

Supporting Creative Opportunity Through artX Metro

Our inaugural donation in 2022 helped bring to life RISE, a local Geelong exhibition developed through the genU Arts programme that provided a platform for emerging artists living with disability. It was a powerful showcase of creative expression and community inclusion.

We’re pleased to share that our second donation is now supporting the 2025 artX Metro exhibition, a creative program from genU running from Tuesday 2 September 2025 to Friday 5 September, with the official launch and winners announced on Thursday 4 September. Focused on showcasing artistic talent from across Metro Melbourne, delivers inclusive arts experiences and opportunities for artists of all abilities to explore, develop and share their practice. This initiative empowers artists to connect with mainstream audiences, gain greater exposure, and benefit financially through the sale of their work. These opportunities not only help break down barriers between the mainstream and disability art communities but also boost self-esteem and foster a stronger sense of inclusion.

We’re honoured to be an Event Partner of artX metro and continue to support the incredible work genU is doing to build genuinely inclusive communities. By specifying or selecting products from these collections, our customers are helping to create more than just beautiful interiors - they’re contributing to meaningful, real-world outcomes.

Submissions for artX Metro 2025 are now open from Monday 2 June till Friday 21 August!
