Supporting Dreamtime Flooring, means supporting a 100% Indigenous business
Here at GH Commercial, we are a proud partner of Dreamtime Flooring, bringing the work of their artists to life with our local manufacturing technology right here in Geelong, Victoria. Together, we work to support Dreamtimes vision of sharing Indigenous culture and artwork for future generations.
Dreamtime Flooring was born in 2022 from a deep aspiration drawn from director, Josh Haddock’s connection to Indigenous culture, this is the essence of Dreamtime Flooring: the missing link connecting culture, artwork and flooring. This can only come from engaging with a 100% Indigenously owned business-like Dreamtime Flooring. Josh being a Yorta Yorta man raised in Morwell, VIC on Gunai Kurnai Country himself, wanted to create a business that celebrated the Indigenous culture through flooring while engaging with other Indigenous businesses, helping to streamline income back into Indigenous communities.
For generations, Indigenous people have shared culture through stories and artwork. At Dreamtime Flooring, Indigenous heritage is drawn from to celebrate this rich culture through the flooring medium in the hopes of preserving those stories for our future generations.
Dreamtime's mission is to have as many buildings as possible for current and future generations to see Aboriginal ancestry and culture with a particular focus on public buildings: Government, council, schools, libraries and galleries. Their intention is not only focused around sharing their culture with generations to come but also to engage these future generations with employment opportunities, apprenticeships and traineeships, as they believe it is a vital step into raising a talented, educated Indigenous community with the footprints to walk towards the future.

Enviro Bac Plus®
Acoustics play a significant role in an interior environment. Background noise, particularly in open plan spaces, can affect concentration, stress levels and ultimately productivity. Carpet tiles and planks with Enviro Bac Plus® cushion backing have a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) 66% greater on average when compared to standard Enviro Bac® carpet tiles. This cushion backing is made using recycled materials and is the thickest cushion backing offered for GH Commercial carpet tiles. Enviro Bac Plus® contains approximately 75% recycled content (recycled material is a mixture of pre- and post- consumer material).

With increased recycled content over standard backing, handling high RH% subfloor installation and providing similar performance to thicker cushion backing such as Enviro Bac Plus®, Enviro Bac Lite® also allows for approximately 35% less transport emissions compared to thicker and heavier cushion back solutions*. Enviro Bac Lite® is also designed to reduce the thickness variation when adjoining lower profile finishes in order to utilise standard trim solutions or no trim at all when installing adjacent to our 4.5mm LVT offering. Enviro Bac Lite® contains approximately 85% recycled content (recycled material is a mixture of pre- and post- consumer material).
Download Flyer*Enviro Bac Lite® has significantly lower transport associated greenhouse gas emissions per m2 of tiles when compared to our Enviro Bac Plus® carpet tile backing because more tiles can be transported per truck load and because the tiles themselves are lighter. The emissions reduction percentage has been calculated on the basis that a full standard B Double trailer set can accommodate 4,896 m2 of Enviro Bac Lite® carpet tiles weighing a total of 17.23 tonnes, whereas the same trailer set carrying Enviro Bac Plus® can accommodate 3,672m2 of carpet tiles weighing 20.16 tonnes. Using standard LCA methodology for calculating transport emissions (i.e. assuming a straight-line relationship between weight and transport emissions when all other factors such as vehicle size are constant), the increased m2 and reduced volume results in a 35.9% reduction in the nominal greenhouse gas emissions associated with transport.
